Vero - Privacy Policy

Last Updated: June 13, 2026

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Vero collects, uses, discloses, and retains personal information when you use the Vero app, website, and related services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Account and profile information: phone number, sign-in identifiers, email if you provide one, first name, birthday, gender, dating preferences, profile content, support submissions, settings, account IDs, phone history, and verification status.
  • Profile and dating activity: photos, videos, bio, prompts, filters, likes, passes, saves, matches, chats, reports, blocks, discovery activity, ranking activity, compatibility signals, and other in-app actions.
  • Payments, subscriptions, and in-app value: subscriptions, purchases, credit balances, credit spending, rewards, redemptions, refunds, chargebacks, payment status, product IDs, app store transaction IDs, payment provider identifiers, and related transaction history.
  • Device and usage information: device identifiers, IP address, app events, approximate location, precise location if you grant it, notification tokens, app version, platform, diagnostics, performance data, and fraud-prevention signals.
  • Verification and safety information: verification captures, facial geometry or face templates generated during verification, profile-photo authenticity metadata used for fraud review, reports, blocks, bans, moderation records, suspicious behavior signals, device and account risk signals, and related authenticity or safety signals. More detail appears in the Biometric Policy.

Vero strips EXIF metadata, including GPS metadata, from profile photos before serving stored originals or resized variants to other users.

Raw liveness verification frames are not served through the public CDN. They are stored privately, exposed to authorized moderation workflows only through short-lived signed URLs, and deleted after the moderator-review retention window.

3. Where the Information Comes From

We collect information:

  • directly from you when you create or edit an account, use the service, contact support, make a purchase, or request a change;
  • automatically from your device, app usage, website usage, and in-app activity;
  • from other users when they interact with you, report content, block accounts, or contact support; and
  • from service providers and platform partners involved in authentication, payments, subscriptions, app stores, analytics, hosting, storage, messaging, notifications, email, SMS, safety, verification, fraud prevention, support, and in-app value infrastructure.

4. Why We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • create and maintain accounts and profiles;
  • provide matching, discovery, ranking, messaging, payments, subscriptions, credits, rewards, in-app value features, and customer support;
  • process purchases, refunds, chargebacks, renewals, account credits, redemptions, and payment disputes;
  • run verification, investigate fraud or abuse, enforce safety rules, prevent ban evasion, and protect service integrity;
  • personalize and improve discovery, recommendations, filters, compatibility, notifications, and app experiences;
  • measure performance, troubleshoot issues, test features, and improve the service; and
  • comply with legal obligations and protect users, Vero, and the public.

5. Automated Systems

Vero may use automated systems to support discovery ranking, recommendations, visibility, compatibility, fraud detection, spam prevention, safety reviews, moderation prioritization, payment-risk review, and account protection.

These systems may affect which profiles you see, who sees your profile, whether a feature is available, whether activity is limited, or whether an account is routed for review. You can contact support about account restrictions or safety decisions.

6. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose personal information:

  • to other users as part of the profile, discovery, matching, and messaging features you choose to use;
  • to service providers that help with hosting, storage, authentication, payments, subscriptions, app stores, in-app value infrastructure, analytics, communications, support, verification, fraud prevention, and safety operations;
  • to payment processors, app stores, subscription providers, and transaction infrastructure providers to operate purchases, subscriptions, credits, rewards, refunds, chargebacks, and related records;
  • for legal process, law enforcement requests, safety incidents, fraud investigations, payment disputes, chargebacks, or other legal obligations; and
  • in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets.

Vero does not sell personal information. Vero does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

7. Retention

We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, complete transactions, enforce safety rules, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, support payment records, and comply with law.

In general:

  • active account information is kept while your account is open;
  • standard account-deletion requests are processed within about 90 days;
  • profile content and normal account data are deleted or de-identified after account deletion unless retention is reasonably necessary;
  • payment, tax, purchase, credit, refund, chargeback, subscription, safety, fraud, moderation, support, dispute, and legal records may be kept longer where required or reasonably necessary;
  • records used to enforce bans, prevent duplicate abuse, detect fraud, or protect users may be retained after account deletion; and
  • biometric retention and deletion are described separately in the Biometric Policy.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You can update profile information in the app, control device permissions, opt out of analytics where offered, and delete your account from settings.

You can also send privacy requests to privacy@vero.dating. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit certain processing of your information, subject to applicable exceptions.

For California residents, Vero provides the rights generally described by California privacy law, including rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, and to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information. Vero does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

9. Sensitive and Biometric Information

Vero may process sensitive information such as precise location, dating-preference information, private communications, account safety signals, and biometric information used for verification and safety. The Biometric Policy contains the main notice for biometric collection, consent, use, retention, deletion, and disclosure.

10. International Processing

Vero and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws than your country.

11. Children

Vero is for adults only. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use the service, and we remove underage accounts when identified.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including when features, providers, technology, data uses, or legal requirements change. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and provide additional notice when appropriate or required.

13. Contact

Privacy questions and requests can be sent to privacy@vero.dating.
